New Xbox 360 GUI out this week

Console round-up Little Big Planet to reach PSP
Monday, 17 November 2008, 10:39

THE NEW World of Warcraft expansion was released last week - Wrath of the Lich King. The expansion raised the level limit to 80, from 70, introduced a new character class, the death knight and added a whole new continent, Northrend. It took just over a day for for a Warcrack addict with very little in the way of a real life, to level up to the new limit.

Xbox 360
The 360 should shortly break the 25 million unit mark, beating the original Xbox's top selling point.

Microsoft boss Don Mattrick still believes he was the very first person to invent controllable human avatars using the most tenuous argument ever.

Don't forget that the 'New Xbox Experience', which is a complete change of the GUI for the Xbox 360, is out this week, on Wednesday the 19th of November.

This may give you something to do when you've finished Halo 3 Recon, which Bungie states is only between three and five hours long.

PS3/PSP
The PS3 keypad, similar in design to the Xbox 360's, has been delayed until December.

Sony is reporting, through a semi-official blog (from which you should read 'official'), that users should be aware of contentious content on Little Big Planet. It seems it might also be coming to the PSP - maybe finally making sense of the high-number of units sold.

A 160GB 'Drake's Fortune' bundle has been spotted in the wild.

Wii/DS
The INQ previously covered Nintendo's sales dominance of October.

Though Wii Music sales have been disappointing - but not to Nintendo.

IGN has a review of the eagerly awaited Wii installment of Animal Crossing. µ

?? Confused...

"The PS3 keypad, similar in design to the Xbox 360's, has been delayed until December."

Did this ever have an official release date? I never saw an official Sony press release stating a date, so how on earth can it be delayed???

NXE Is out, but beware...

Got it offered to me by Microsoft. (appplied for the early access via Major Nelson) However it seems to have toasted my Xbox360.

It installed, rebooted, played a very nice looking intro movie, then promptly locked up, no RROD, but no display either. Rebooting just repeats the process, nice movie, then nothing.

Phoned Microsoft, but because it's outside warranty, and not RROD, then they want £180 to sort it out.

I would avoid NXE, until the bugs are worked out. Fortunatly, I have another 360, a replacement for a earlier RROD, but it won't be getting NXE, and if they force it on me, I will play offline...
