Unleashing passion
Wed Nov 12 2008, 15:36

BRITISH BASED GRAPHICS software firm Serif has just announced a licensing deal with AMD, to give away free downloads to punters who shell out for a Phenom processor.

Serif is offering free downloads of either Photo Plus X2 or Movie Plus X3 to any customer buying an AMD PhenomTM processor between November 10th and the end of the year, as part of AMD’s 'Unleash Passion' campaign.

Both video and photo editing programmes are available in English, whilst Movie Plus X3 is also available in French and German.

Senior Manager of Channel Marketing at AMD, Richard Baker, noted Photo Plus X2 and Movie Plus X3 made "the perfect accompaniments to our AMD Phenom processor products". He was seconded by Serif’s Head of Business Development, Ellie Dyke, who said that the "software completely fits with the ideals behind AMD’s Unleash Passion campaign".

Those ideals being to flog as many as possible, we assume. µ

i'd only consider buying a phenom if the software they're giving away costs at least as much as the processor. then i'll throw away the processor and run the software on i7.
