I'm astounded you guys [analysts] tolerate their [Intel's] margin collapse - W.J. Sanders III
USUALLY ADDING the billionth mouse to any given situation would be rodent overload, yet for Logitech, shipping its billionth mouse is a momentous milestone.
Logitech has been selling the mouse since 1985 and today marks the day when the billionth is released into the wild.
"Since the first click of the Logitech P4 mouse in 1982, Logitech mice have played an indispensable role in the evolution of the personal computer," squeeked a spokesrodent.
Rory Dooley of Logitech also gives us today a glimpse of the future speaking about the Air mouse and palm-sized keyboard yet to come.
What’s just the icing on the cake for mouse enthusiasts is that this news comes in the same week as the fortieth anniversary of Doug Engelbart’s legendary public debut of the computer mouse.
Although this news also comes at a time when analysts claim the days of the mouse are numbered, this doesn’t seem to phase Logitech.
In a bizarre celebration of this mouse’s shipment, Logitech is launching a worldwide contest to track this mouse on its journey from manufacture to destination in a bid to work out where it will end up... strange, but true. µ
