PCSurplus online has some good stuffs for us. Be quick, there's only a few left - writing this article as soon as the email landed in my inbox. First is that Visiontek Xtasy Geforce 4 Ti 4600 graphics card for only $79.99. It is a pulled part and carries only 30 day warranty. It is directX9.0 compatible as far as I know and should be competitive even with the X600 Pro or the FX5700 for that matter.
The second deal is that ATI Diamond Fire GL4 128MB Dual DVI 4x AGP card which uses a RC1000/GT1000 chpset. It is also a pulled component with 30 days warranty. A bargain if you're after OpenGL performance and modelling.
Lastly from PCsurplusonline is that superb Compaq Proliant DL580 Quad P3 Xeon 700MHz server. It's no light weight. Each CPU has 2MB cache. The CPUs alone are worth $440. Now you also get 1GB of PC100 ECC SDRAM, four Hotswappable 18.2GB 10K SCSI hard disk drives, a 4U casing, SmartArray controller, remote insight card and lots more. Even cheaper than on ebay at $599.99.
To finish off, a couple of cheap 12.1-inch laptops from ebay. First this superb VAIO R505 at only $549 and weighing only 3.75lbs. This one comes with its OS and its docking station. On top of that, you do get a free 802.11g wireless card. It would be ideal for you if you want to watch or listen to music while in the kitchen for example. It comes with a P3-M 750MHz CPU, 256MB SDRAM, a 15GB HDD, a DVD Combo, floppy disk drive and a superb screen. It also comes with Windows XP HE and a six month warranty. The same seller has a more powerful system for slightly more at $699. The Sharp Actius AV18 model comes with the same specs as above except for the Athlon XP-M 1800+ CPU and a 40GB HDD. µ
