Rambus waits to hear FTC appeal

The wheels of justice grind
Wed Aug 02 2006, 08:09
THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (FTC) is expected to tell the world+dog today whether its appeal against Rambus (tick: RMBS) has succeeded or failed.

The FTC spent gazillions dragging Rambus through the courts. The FTC complaint was dismissed in 2004 but the feds appealed against that decision.

But the FTC appealed in March and today we'll find out what's transpired behind heavy oak doors.

Analyst Bill Teel at Hedge Fund Confidential said he believes the agency will end the case without severe sanctions against Rambus.

The FTC could force Rambus to set royalty rates and if it does the percentage will be the key thing. Rambus closed at $16.98 yesterday, down 65 cents on the day. µ
