Avnet grabs Acal's distie biz

DISTIE FIRM Avnet said it has bought the IT division of Acal PLC.

Acal distributes storage area network, document management and secure networking serrvices across Europe.

That, said Avnet, gives it 2,000 Acal resellers and system integrators and 180 employees as well as a heap of vendors' products from Canon, Fujitsu, Cisco, Emulex, Brocade and others.

The IT division of Acal had revenues of about $200 million for the period ended 31st of March this year.

Avnet didn't say how much it paid for this distie. µ

Amount no so unknown

In fact, the price Avnet paid for Acal IT business is not so unknown. It is about 60 millions of euros, which is about 41 millions of pounds.
