ATI said to be recalling chips

ONE OF THE rumours floating around the net now is about ATI cards and them being recalled. Sadly for us whoring rumor-mongers, it is not true.
The far eastern moles are singing this time of year, but like most of their genus, they do so only to earn money to buy the families of little mole people gifts.
In this case, if you hear something about ATI cards being recalled, ignore it. Remember, moles aren't always right. ยต

737-30606: Radeon X800 XT MAC Edition - Display Corruption on PowerMAC G5 Systems

The information in this article applies to the following
configuration(s): 
Radeon(tm) X800 XT MAC Edition 
PowerMAC G5 System 
MAC OS X

Symptoms:
Display corruption through ADC and DVI port on all Radeon X800 XT MAC Editions with the product part number PN 102-A35809. The problem does not occur on earlier versions of this graphics card (PN 102-A35801).


Solution:
Currently there is no solution.

(They have had my card for 3 weeks with no idea when they can return it)
When are you going to start reffering to the company by its NAME, ATI became AMD.

3Dfx merged with Nvidia, you dont call them some nvid3diafx or something equally stupid, cut it out.

The cards are still marketed under the ATI brand name. Go to ati.amd.com/products to see for yourself.

Until you see "AMD Radeon" on a box, it's perfectly reasonable to continue talking about ATI.

Last time I checked, Nvidia cards didnt have 3dfx logos all over them. Next time I buy a red card with only a green AMD badge on it, then I'll agree with you.
Yes ATI does exist, AMDs graphics card division is still called ATI, they are ATI Radeon HD3850, ATI Radeon 2900 etc, look on their website. They would be stupid to rebrand everything AMD X???? or AMD HD????, because we all know it as ATI Radeon ?????.

I know moles aren't always right, and since you guys are moles that makes perfect sense.
We don't decide the names of companies or their divisions. They do. 

If Nvidia wanted to call their line of prouducts nvid3diafx, then thats what it would be called.

AMD refers to their Graphics Division as ATI, so guess what? Thats what we call it.
If you own a Crapple, you don't count. Even if you card explodes, ATI are entitled to refuse an RMA because you are a Macintrash user. Go jump in a well dude...
Despite Alex being a Tool, technically it should be "AMD said to be recalling cards", and then later use the other form for "..about ATi cards.." which would be correct since technicaly it's AMD doing the recall as a company, and the division is the ATi cards, like GM recalling Chevy/Saturn/Caddy something or others or VW recalling Audi/Lambo/etc.

As for the rumour, it'd be nice to see the rumour so you know what to avoid according to the author. 

as for display issue with Apple, what else is new? Anything with a proprietary ADC port is bound to have proprietary issues, seems like the rest of the X800 users were ok for their 3 year lifespan.
Even moles have holes.
