Possibly in volume....

PEOPLE AT AMD TAIWAN have given the INQUIRER details of when we may expect new 32-bit chips from the firm, off the record of course.

The long awaited MP2600+, a chip intended for dual multiprocessing systems, will be introduced on the fourth of February next.

Bartons - which come as the 2500+, the 2700+ and the 3000+ and which will have a fabulous 512K of cache but won't use silicon on insulator nor Super Silicon 28, as far as we can tell, are set to be introduced on February 7th.

We presume that Cheapzilla will try and grab IT journalists using the Intel Developer Forum in San Jose, later in February, to show off its Opterons and Athlon64 Clawhammers.

That's it. ยต

AS FOR THE 2800+. You can buy it in the United States if you buy it with a motherboard too. That particular eggy concoction is here.
