SPUN OFF DRAM firm Qimonda said its extended the deal it had with Taiwanese firm Qinbond to produce memory chips.

Qimonda will move its 75 nanometre and 58 nanometre DRAM trench tech to WInbond's 12-inch fab in Taichung.

The quid pro quo [not qid pro qo? Ed.] is that Winbond will make DRAMs exclusively for Qimonda. For Winbond, it gets access to Qimonda tech and will pay licence fees and royalties to the German firm.

Qimonda was spun out of Infineon a year ago. µ
