Lara Croft stripped naked...again

Anniversary patch reveals treasured chest
Wednesday, 11 July 2007, 12:08
ONE OF THE PRETTY good reasons why Lara Croft became popular beyond belief was the fact that a certain software patch appeared almost simultaneously with the Tomb Raider game itself.

This unofficial patch brought a lot of attention from mainstream media and started many debates about video gaming in pre-Columbine times, when attention moved from sex to violence in games of today.

That patch simply replaced Lara's textures - the skinny outfit went bye-bye, and all that Lara was left wearing was her belt and guns.

Now, with Tomb Raider's 10th Anniversary upon us, an e-mail from one of our readers containing screenshots of a newly-patched game came as barely a surprise.

Lara gets more detailed if you have better hardware

Tomb-Raider-Anniversary.com recently posted the patch that will replace Lara's original textures to give her that au natural look. Sadly, we can conclude that texture quality is not up to highest standards - but if you want to recall old days, you can use our complementary L'Inq.

If you're of a sturdy disposition, of course. ยต
