APPLE HAS upgraded its Iphone ten days before it ships.

The firm said the Iphone will have "significantly longer battery life" when it ships on June 29 than was originally estimated when gadget was unveiled in January.

Apple claims the Iphone will have up to eight hours of talk time, six hours of Internet use, seven hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.

If you leave the phone alone it will not need recharging for 10 days. Apple also says that the top surface of phone has been upgraded from plastic to optical-quality glass.

The phone will still be expensive and will set you back $499 for a 4GB model. There will be an 8GB model for $599. µ
