Hynix, Sandisk cross fertilise each other

The birds and the bees and the flower and the trees
Wednesday, 21 March 2007, 10:12
GIANT KOREAN DRAMURAI Hynix and up and coming Sandisk said they have agreed to cross license each other's flash memory technologies.

And they're also cooking up a joint venture in the shape of a memorandum of understanding [surely memoryandum, Ed.] to make memory components and NAND bits and pieces.

Both firms will plunge an equivalent amount of money into the JV but they wouldn't say how much.

The cross licence agreement means that neither Sandisk nor Hynix will get cross with each other in court, which no doubt will make lawyers sigh in despair contemplating a cosy settlement rather than drawn out litigation. ยต
