BBC broadcasters can't handle cyber bullying

THE BBC’S TELEVISION and radio presenters can’t handle being flamed apparently, which means that the beeb is having to block critical comments from presenter messageboards and forums.

According to the Daily Torygraph, even their handsome £2,000-£3,000 a show isn’t enough consolation for the ribbing they get from “cyber bullies” and disgruntled listeners, and the poor things just can’t take anymore.

"Some of it is actually deeply hurtful," Springwatch presenter, Bill Oddie, told the Torygraph. Awwww, poor delicate little flower.

Of course, here at the INQ, we tend to consider hate mail as a sign that we’re doing a great job, and we print out and frame every single one of them. Bring ‘em on!

But the BBC clearly has more regard for its pampered, prima donna presenters than for its spittle-flecked, licence paying listeners, despite the fact that nobody is actually forcing any of the presenters to go into the forums and read what’s being said about them.

Maybe the Beeb should just do away with its Internet site altogether. Instead of spending millions in viewer licence fees to become more “interactive”, the beeb could better spend the money on therapy for their sensitive, harassed, broadcasters instead.

Obviously the Beeb has been taking a few pages out of China’s censorship manual, allowing people to comment, as long as those comments are ones that the BBC and its thin skinned employees want to hear, and not ones that hurt their feelings or make them feel sad. µ

Money better spent

The BBC could spend its web money better by hiring some editors who can actually spell (like misspelling "lose" as "loose"), and by ensuring that their site doesn't create broken links and images, which shouldn't ever be possible if they properly automate their website.

better yet

Or they could spend money paying journalists to actually verify or comment on the credibility of their sources since as far as I can tell beeb thinks that batshit insane leftists/conservatives have information that is just as true (if not more so) as experts who have dedicated their lives to understanding natural phenomena etc. (or leaders of terrorist organizations vs. heads of internationally recognized historically stable states....).
