THERE'S AN AMUSING little thread on a web page where a purported exchange between Alienware and Computer Gaming World appears to have escalated into a good old fashioned ding-dong, or unseemly row, as we call it here in Blighty.
The purported exchange, starts with Nelson Gonzales, writing from the chief executive office of Alienware, and apparently kicking off the fun by making the fundamental mistake of putting the words journalistic and integrity right next to each other.
As every fule kno, journalistic integrity is an oxymoron.
Later in the exchange, things really start to hot up, and the purported emails from Alienware start developing the rash of capital letters that passes for RAGE in the world of Emals.
But it's the very last letter in the exchange where Alienware really goes over the top. He lashes out that CGW has no CREDIBILITY, and is loosing (sic) advertisers and readership.
The emal appears to suggest that every influential Alienware friend in the industry will know how biased CGW is claimed to be.
Indeed, it appears that Alienware might even spam its email list of 400,000 with the TRUTH.
Editor choice awards, don't hold their weight like they used to, according to the web page.
The page to view the row is here. Start from the fundament and work your way up. ยต
