IF BEBO IS A KIDS' virtual playground then Apple is taking to hanging outside the gates in a long mackintosh, hawking its wares.

The firm annouced a cunning plan to flog Itunes to Bebo users, who are generally around 13. Apple says it's after the 16-34 age group and we have the feeling it's a bit out here.

But many of Bebo's youngsters like to embed songs in their little homepages. So thousands are now likely to get a bill for so doing.

Bebo claims some 8.8 million users in the UK and Ireland. It reckons around half a million of these are musicians and seems to be offing to flog their tunes in return for a slice of the action. µ
