Nvidia played the old game of blaming the manufacturers and said that none of its manufacturers wanted to produce an HDMI card but we think it has something to do with the software support as well.
It is true that you have to sacrifice the second DVI to make an HDMI-capable card but we sure think that there is a market for those cards, especially on the futuristic coasts of Japan and later on in the US. Europe is still way behind.
ATI is taking its first steps and we already played with Power Color's card that can do HDMI just fine. It will take a while before we see those cards in retail but we also learned that Sapphire is about to get its HDMI card ready. You can read about ATI's, Power Color HDMI card here.
There is still no sign of Nvidia HDMI-capable cards but we always knew that even if Nvidia tends to show leadership in 3D and introduce cool marketing gimmicks such as SLI, it usually comes second when it comes to multimedia support.
We hope that this will change soon and that Nvidia can get HDMI cards out of its magic hat. ยต
