Jetway makes a Wii-PC

Computex 007 PS3-PC also on the cards

DURING OUR CONVERSATION with Jonah from JetWay - motherboard overclocking gurus of the late 90s - we got ourselves a good insight as to where the company is currently standing. The guys have been spending their time producing a bunch of mini-ITX boards with VIA and AMD CPUs.

124-pin connector is nothing else but a mapped PCI/PCIe slot

Jetway has taken a lego block approach and started to create flexible boards with additional elements such as four Gigabit connectors, DVI, COM ports and many more PCBs with some core logic on them. Latest efforts include AMD Geode Socket and integrated processors, Intel Core 2 Duo (Merom series) with 945 chipset and of course, VIA's own CPU.

The best part though, we think, is current case development. Thanks to a low power footprint, Jetway has managed to create a computer inside a case just like the ultra-popular Nintendo Wii. We'll leave it up to you as to whether JetWay did a good job with these two PS3 and Wii-emulating chassis. alt='jetway0'
Wii and PS3 for those that want console-looking computers...

These babies looked better in person, sadly though yours truly did not have a Wii to hand for comparsions sake. ยต
