Keyer gets the snip
Mon Mar 17 2008, 16:36

RED GIANT SOFTWARE has announced and upgrade to its video green-screen software, Primatte Keyer.

For the first time, the pro level plug in is capable of working with pro-sumer video editing packages including Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Adobe's CS3 Suite of apps.

According to Red Giant, the new iteration has a new auto setup feature which "intelligently generates a perfect key in seconds." It offers a claimed threefold improvement in processing times over previous versions. First time buyers will need to fork out $499, whilst upgrades cost $199.

Early reviews are positive and remarks have been made about version 4.0's ability to deal effectively with difficult-to-manage areas like semi-transparent glass and hair. One reviewer noted that is "ridiculously easy to use, yet has all of the advanced features you would expect from a high-end keyer." µ
