AMD pumps up the Linux volume

ATI USED to have a crap reputation for Linux drivers but now AMD owns it that seems set to change, possibly.

It said it is providing "improvements" to "redefine the graphics landscape" for Linux "consumer users".

AMD is going to provide Linux support for the ATI Radeon HD 2000 series with Catalyst 7.9.

Oddly, major competitor Nvidia hasn't had any problems supporting Linux for years. µ
