NEC has developed a 3D screen. It works by displaying two different images, on for the left eye, one for the right.

They're simultaneously streamed onto the same screen, but the brain assembles the two sets of images and sees everything in three dimensions.

The 12.1-inch LCD screen means 3-D image conscious fans can chuck away their stupid glasses.

The screens are a scaled up version of 2.5-inch displays created by NEC in 2004.

Mass production is slated to begin in fiscal 2009, says Nikkei.net.

Join the queue behind the other potential customers - arcade game makers and medical imaging device manufacturers. µ
