A spokesman has told vnunet.com that users in EMEA and Brazil will be able to grab themselves accounts easy peasy, without the hassle of annoying your internet buddies about invites.
However, users in other regions will still need an invite from a Gmail user to use the service. Supposedly, the move to free accounts is part of an "ongoing growth strategy" for the company, as if it hasn't grown enough, being the Internet Tumour that it is.
The spokesman told vnunet.com that the company has been "doing this gradually to ensure that, as we grow and scale, we continue to provide the fast and reliable service that users have come to expect from Gmail," he span.
Google's latest announcement pairs up with the company's decision to translate the mobile version of Gmail into French, Spanish, German and Italian. µ
