Nokia showcased N92 with DVB-H

IBC Amsterdam 2006 DVB-H plays 4 to 6 hours

WE HAD a chance to hold one of the first Nokia N92 phones. It is the first Nokia DVB-H phone and it works just fine. The nice Finnish Nokia chaps complained that there is still no infrastructure to support this nice phone.

We also learned that it can stream CNN without any problems but that the DVB providers are yet to make the network to support such a feature. It is not up to mobile networks, usually the DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) guys are supposed to make the infrastructure.

Two countries are way ahead in this game: Finland, the home of Nokia, and Italy.

The phone is almost 200 grammes heavy and is pretty big but it feels nice. We have a shot for you to feast your eyes on, as it won't go in retail for a few more months.

It should be out before Xmas but only in Finland and Italy for starters. µ
