EU recommends Intel antitrust action

7 years in, and about to begin

IT LOOKS LIKE Intel legal is going to be hiring in 2007. According to the Wall Street Journal, the EU is going to be looking at the company.

The antitrust complaint filed by AMD in 2000 is finally nearing what seems to be another step in a long series of steps.

The WSJ reckons that the EU investigators have recommended that Neelie Kroes formally charge Intel with a bunch of monopoly related things. Of course Intel says it is innocent, and AMD reckons it kept them down.

This may look like a setback for Intel, but until there is a verdict, that is about all you can say. It is going to be a long messy case, and the seven years are just starting.
