Bloke shipped US chips for Indian missiles, fighter jets

Used for Tejas, ballistic missiles
Fri Mar 14 2008, 08:41

A MAN pleaded guilty to supplying Indian defence organisations with microprocessors and other components used for ballistic missiles.

Parthasarathy Sudarshan (47) pleaded guilty to violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the Export Adminstration Regulations, the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

Sudarshan will be sentenced in June.

The attorney general for National Security said he was part of a secret network that put US sophisticated tech in the hands of foreign companies.

He fraudulently acquired and shipped control missile technology overseas. He had represented himself as the CEO of Cirrus Technology. The technology ended up in enterprises run by the Indian Department of Space and Bharat Dynamics, a division within the Indian Ministry of Defence.

He also acquired microprocessors for use in the Indian fighter jet project called Tejas, without having the necessary export licences.

He can expect a stiff sentence. µ

Yes but

I think that you will find that Israel provides the USA with the underlying technologies that allows the USA to defend itself.

AT adds: And where might we find that?

Arabs

Bryan, Arabs are also semites. If anything you should should be accusing the top poster of favoritism (but that would be pot meets kettle in your case, wouldn't it?).

The plot thickens

Could this villainous spy, perchance, be part of the same shadowy network that annually supplies billions of dollars worth of the latest military technology to Israel? I think we should be told.

My sources reveal that the men and women responsible for exporting sensitive technology to Israel live in a huge pentagonal building somewhere in the District of Columbia.

That was my point, really

Apologies for mislocating the Pentagon. Who would have thought that DC was so small? Uh, Bryan, *why* is Israel an ally of the USA while India is not?

that last comment borders anti-sematic

We are Allies with Israel and not with India.

Keeping our ...lone middle east ally alive is in our best interest. We don't give secrets...just the actual goods...or not even that, we give them aid money and allow them to buy our old military arms... F-16 fighters and such
missile defense systems.

However this "sensitive technology" export is not one sided we give them info and they return it... they have also been known to pass back pilots ideas for improvement back to us. Allies exchange things.....

Israel ally....
India not

AT adds: YMMV.
