Bizarre challenge laid down to eBay

Just 20 items on the e-shelf

A BRAVE challenge to eBay's market supremacy is being mounted by British site, 20ltd.com. According to the Sunday Times, it's the brainchild of two former ad execs.

20ltd.com won't actually start e-tailing until Noon on 2nd April. Lucky they didn't pick the previous day, eh?

Anyway, the idea is to e-tail only the "authentic, ingenious and beautiful" of things. So at any one time they'll only be a choice of 20 items.

Amongst the items that will go on sale, apparently, is a $70,000 motorbike, the Confederate Hellcat. The King of Jordan, Abdullah II, has just bought one.

The INQ wonders if the site might sell exceedingly expensive mobile handsets like the Nokia Vertu.

Hopefully 20ltd.com won't make the mistake that Boo.com made and construct the country's most expensive customer call centre just off Oxford Street. µ
