New Rivatuner hits the street

Version 2.04 sports full 64-bit Vista support
Mon Sep 17 2007, 15:16
ONE OF THE BIG headaches for independent developers was the way 64-bit Vista locks out non-signed drivers. This was certainly a problem for graphics tweaking routine Rivatuner, until bright spark tweaker, Alexey Nicolaychuk managed to work things out, and 2.04 revison came out compatible with 64-bit Vista as well.

Among other things, this revision brings independent Shader domain based overclocking, meaning that you will finally be able to overclock the shader units inside the G80 based marchitecture, not just the general GPU clock. This overclock mode is still in gray area for power users only, modifying shader/ROP domain clock ratio. This is not done through easy GUI, but rather requires some pre-requisite knowledge.

This version works with latest drivers from Nvidia and ATI, ForceWare 163.67 and Catalyst 7.9. This application is optimised for multi-threaded applications and should not crash the system or an multi-threaded application like Bioshock. Now, Rivatuner is able to call for frames from different threads, and the headaches of previous releases should be a thing of the past. µ
