BRITISH FIRM Ainkaboot claimed that by using Via C7 microprocessors and EPIA boards, it's able to offer a rack of computing power that's light on the pocket and doesn't use too much juice.

The firm showed off an Octimod unit with eight modules in a 4U config, using Via's mini ITX 170 square mm boards. The unit has a redundant power supply which is located at the top of the little cabinet and dispenses juice downwards, like a benevolent dictator.

How much dosh are we talking? About 10K.

The software is a variant of Gentoo Linux dubbed KlustOS and the boxes are aimed at web hosting, file clustering, financial applications and the like. And in house rendering farms, which we are assured has nothing to do with processing meat slurries. µ
