"I Love the smell of Talisker in the morning" -- Promethea

Poll Roundup Should Northern Ireland be part of the UK Gee you'd think around St. Paddy's day you people could take something seriously. Wibble.

Oi! Really running late this week. Of course being St. Paddy's and all, a few black and creamy libations were called for; the cute little blonde bartender didn't hurt. So this one may be a wee it short. I'd apologize, but all you sousers can go stuff it for all I care. If you want to complain I have a nice heat sink and fan that could work well as a colon cooler.

Official Inq 1st birthday party Spinola sent out a semi-formal invitation this time around, what with it being such an auspicious occasion and all. As well as a blatant call for Talisker. As the good Doctor placed the venue and time outright, we were saved from the usual 200 posts to figure out the time. So other matters begged discussing. One was the possible presence of the fair Lucy, and whether or not the fair Lucy, was really a gender confused Spinola. My personal belief is rather that Lucy is actually Spinola pretending to be Kieren in drag. We also had the standard fair of Talisker discussion. Some reminiscing over past OOFG's, with the obligatory pictures. A little GHC bashing that's sure to end messily, specially as she will have a definitive location on the Good Doctor's whereabouts. Actually there are a quite a few rambling threads within this one, with all the usual characters. An all star cast really. For an alternate definition of star.

Theoretical physics An attempt at a rather lame AMD joke. Frnht had a rebuttal or a comment or something. I think it was a dig against the US contingent. But to be honest I'm not really sure. That post led into a series of political/philosophical discussions that made little or no sense in any way. Eventually it settled upon evolution and creationism. By post 40 no one had yet to post anything that made more sense than a quantum physicist on acid. At that point late in the week KrAP tried to hide his true anti-capitalist beliefs, by paying McDonalds an off-handed compliment. Thankfully it may have started with a lame AMD joke, but it ended with a lame Winders joke.

One for Sid Well ROYP, while I appreciate the attempt to get away from the geeky propeller head talk, I'm damn sure it wasn't #$##@#^@ Citroen's I wanted to talk about. Unless it was loading em up with NTK staffers and driving them off a cliff. Assuming of course you could get them to run long enough to get it to the cliff, I doubt the NTK folk would want to push. As for threads this is one of the better of the week. We talked a fair bit of car talk, and only mildly touched on Citroens and their ilk. There was some Jaggyuar talk, but we have to expect that from our resident hitchhiker.

Tea Shirts Now this here is the thread of the week without a doubt. There were a few attempts to pull it off topic; thankfully for the most part they were ignored. The majority of the thread was including Talisker into a variety of movie quotes and the like. Definitely worth a trip on over. A helluva lot more fun than that stupid word game.

Well I'm outta here. Way past my bedtime on a school night. I want to thank the Computer widow for posting in something besides bloody word association. Almost to be expected when the US right wing legation (Gazpacho, Whiteknave, and MYHIENY) start talking about women drivers. And since I'm a little tired, and not in England, if anyone sees Josh riding around on his bicycle doing his courier thing with his arse high in the air like some weird offering to Jeff, open the door and schwack him for me will you.

The Kat and The Aliens..

Actually I have this feeling they're related in some odd way. Same kind of pupils. Same egocentric, self satisfied out look on life. The belief that being alive is a good enough reason to be pampered. Hmmmm!? Sounds a lot like The Church of The Hermit come to think about it!!

It all started with bicycles ya know? Yup. Gave them women the ability to get out of the house and go places with out having to hitch up the horse and wagon. Made it too easy.

Pretty soon they were meeting each other at ice cream parlours n churches with out their husbands and fathers, getting hi faluting ideas. Then came the car, speakeasies, cheap gin and the world went to hell in a hand basket.

The telephone was a baaaad thing too. Allowed em plot and plan behind their hubbies backs, then get on their bikes and spread the word of getting the vote.

We need to go back to the good old day when a man was king of his own home. Yup.
