COMPUTER FIRM FIC, part of the Formosa Plastics group which also owns Via, Nanya and HTC, is preparing for a
right old splurge when huge computer fair CeBIT opens for business next week in Hannover, Germany.
According to FIC (First International Computer), it will show off its SlateVision Tablet PC which uses a 1GHz processor, but its major thrust appears to be small form factory (small) PC systems.
It will show Crusaders and Shebas. The first uses an S370 mobo measuring 210x210 mm, and supports integrated graphics, audio, four COM ports, one parallel port, six USB ports, a PCI expansion slot and a smaller low profile PCI expansion slot.
It will also show off the "Solomon" system, which uses a micro ATX mobo, measuring 246x310x95mm, includes a Firewire port, a LAN port, six USB ports, a parallel port and SPDIF.
FIC will also show its Cavalry Pocket PCs, which use a PXA 250 chip, 802.11b or Bluetooth, and infra red technology. These machines also have a camera module. µ
