SLI threesome tops ORB

Spend thousands, win 3DMark
Monday, 24 December 2007, 10:28

WITH NVIDIA'S SLI THREESOME now in the hands of madmen enthusiast consumers everywhere, the first 3DMark results have started owning the boards.

This thread has some details on what appears to be the current top 3DMark 03 score: 103,888.

Forum member Sampsa has made a homemade bridge connector (using an Asus bendy SLI connector as the stretch), hooked it into a motherboard running an Intel Extreme processor on a rotary cascade, then watercooled the cards.

Those who remember 3DMark 03 will remember the Wings of Fury test, which the threesome canes at 1244 FPS. Mother Nature - the test that had GeForce FX owners salivating - manages a nice 629 FPS. How times change.

Look out for more threesome ownage on 3DMark boards across the holiday season. What a worthwhile way to use thousands of dollars worth of equipment. ยต

WAO

I only got 1064 3d Mark 2006 :( and that is guiness book rekor for me :(.
I only got Geforce 7300 LE and Quadro NVS 135m. And I can't get lose of "64 bit VGA" curse, cause all my vga is still 64 bit. Let hope Nvidia and ATI keep their promise to raise the bit in Geforce 9 and R7xx.

3dmark03?

3DMark03 scores are totally irrelevant as an indicator for 8800-level hardware due to the fact that any 8800 sli setup is just completely limited by the CPU.
The real reason he got this score was a massive overclock on his cpu and fsb. The fact that he's using a tri-sli setup is irrelevant. he could probably pull one or even 2 video cards and still get the same score.
