Fri Jul 04 2003, 10:31
A WEB SITE SAID that Microsoft's Xbox has a major security hole in it but the software vendor refuses to talk about the topic.

And that has led the individuals who discovered the problem to post full details of the vulnerability, which can be found in the Xbox Dashboard.

The filing says that existence of this makes the Xbox independent from Microsoft signed code, and so the discoverers, claim, they are releasing the info to the public today, July the 4th, to mark "Xbox Independence" day.

The Dashboard lets people adjust system settings, manage save games, play and RIP audio CDs and configure Xbox Live accounts.

According to the report, the critical risk which is found within the Xbox dashboard, "totally compromises" the security system.
