Microsoft hints at IE8 details

MICROSOFT HAS started to hint about what it is going to stick under the bonnet of the next version of its browser Internet Exploder.

According to Arstechnica, the structure of the conferences Vole has planned for Mix'07 give a few hints about what Microsoft might be looking at.

This means that there will be improvements in RSS, CSS, and AJAX support. But there will also be support for microformats, small tags embedded in HTML code which can be used to build calendar events or contact information.

Since microformat support is scheduled for Firefox 3, it is clear that Vole is responding to the competition that Firebadger is providing it and having to include them to keep up.

Vole has said that IE 8 will appear about 18 months after the release of IE7.
