Intel flexes Wimax card

CHIPZILLA HAS LET LOOSE a new baseband card which will help the creation of WiMAX base stations.

It's called the Intel NetStructure WiMAX Baseband Card, and it happens to be Intel's very first integrated hardware and software platform for the Advanced Mezzanine Card form factor. Apparently.

In other Chipzillarry news, the company has also announced the Intel WiMAX Connection 2250, a system-on-chip designed to support mobile networks and other supported fixed networks.

Keate Despair - sorry - Despain said in a press release that the new WiMAX Baseband card will "help equipment manufacturers improve the flexibility, development time and cost of wireless broadband solutions."

Chipzilla's latest monster should be available this December and will cost about $3,500. µ
