Apple "nicked our touch screen"

UK outfit threatens to sue
Tuesday, 20 February 2007, 21:22
LITTLE APPLE'S iPhone faces another round of legal stress, this time from a Blighty-based company. It claims that the maker of entertainment gear nicked its flashy touchscreen technology. Quantum Research has warned that, based on Steve Jobs' presentation of the iPhone, Apple seems to be continuing to peddle its technology.

QR is already suing Apple for nicking touchscreen technology on the outfit's iPod clickwheels and says it's prepared to bring another lawsuit, if it finds Apple's device infringes on its patent. Electronic Weekly quotes a SpokesQR as saying that his outfit would be looking very carefully at the iPhone as the description suggests it uses a rear-surface touch screen, and has proximity sensing which can tell if it is held to the ear.

Apparently that was the brain child of QR boffins.

Other QR technology sitting on the iPhone might included charge transfer technology which was invented by QR's founder and CEO Hal Philipp and the company has licensed it to Motorola. And so it goes. ยต
