Friday, 12 October 2007, 13:05

EVERYBODY WANTS to know who's hot in the cellular world and a good opportunity for mobile newbees to get themselves noticed is offered by the GSMA's Global Mobile Awards.
The opportunity to enter kicked off officially today [12th October], with the winners to be announced at the Mobile (formerly 3GSM) World Congress on12th February 2008.
From the innovation award entries, the GSMA will endorse its 'Top 50 Innovators' who will be invited to pitch at the Congress, where ten category winners will be selected.
They'll also be one overall Mobile Innovation Winner. Last year, the GSMA did manage to pick some goodies.
For example, Shozu won the most innovative mobile application award and Ip.access won the best Radio access product or service.
Curiously Qualcomm was the Platinum sponsor of these awards – indicating just how keen the company is to be seen as a major player in 3GSM as well as Cdma2000. µ
