Feisty Gamestop manager suspended

'Games for grades' policy not blessed
Tuesday, 18 September 2007, 10:30
THE GAMES SHOP MANAGER who was only selling games to bright kids who got good grades, has been suspended.

Local telly companies are saying it is 'game-over' for Brandon Scott who had a new policy in his Gamestop shop to promote good grades in school.

While Gamestop declined an on-camera interview, it said that it was learning about and evaluating Scott's concept. However it did not explain why it had suspended him.

Scott says he's unsure whether his suspension was due to the unorthodox policy, or because he spoke to the media.

Despite the fact that he is not loved online, it looks like Scott is doing well at getting the US media behind him. He has been talking to any reporter who will listen about how his plan is the the socially acceptable, responsible thing to do. Because it is always socially acceptable to have your life decisions decided for you by a store manager of a shop where you buy your stuff.

Scott has been getting support from the sorts of parent that believe it is a good idea to wrap your child in bubble wrap and electronically tag them so that you know what they are doing all the time.
