New Nvidia performance driver is in the works

Games Convention 2006 A few weeks more

NVIDIA IS STILL working on a new performance driver for its 7950GX2 quad SLI beast. That's at least what partners know at this time. The performance currently kind of sucks and even the new 91.45 drivers won't help you to gain many frames with two cards with four chips.

The new alleged performance driver is expected in he next few weeks but it may even be more than a month before you see it. It's the same scenario that you saw with the SLI: At first it sucks, sonner or later it gets better and at finmally the company manages to get some real performance out of it.

The 7950 GX2 remains Nvidia's fastest card, at least through September. It may even be after October - or later - that the G80 is set to take its place. ยต
