Sony Eric wristwatches control music

It's time for Bluetooth again
Fri Jun 15 2007, 11:18
IS IT THAT TIME already? Eight months after launching the line, Sony Ericsson has updated its Bluetooth wristwatch family with three new models.

The MBW-150 has nothing to do with German cars but has a lot to do with vibrating when your phone receives a call, displaying the caller's name and giving you the option to accept, with Bluetooth headset, or reject the caller. One version even lets you control music on your phone.

Attempts at bringing computer/comms capabilities to watches have met with a similar level of success to fish competing in top-level cycling over the years but people keep trying.

The Sony Ericsson design is in tandem with Fossil, the big US brand that also worked with Palm on the Wrist PDA and with Microsoft on the WristNet. Previous attempts at glueing together computer/comms functions with watches have included Timex's tie-up with Microsoft for the DataLink, Swatch's Swatch The Beep pager/wristwatch and Casio's DataBank.

Stay tuned for later in the day when we'll unveil our Top 10 Tech Phones That Time Forgot. Assuming we can find that many. µ
