Via benchmarks Opterons against Intel, Nvidia offerings

BENCH MARKS hurriedly scribbled down by the INQUIRER on the back of a fag packet, show that Via is claiming its K8T800 and 8237 combo outshine Nvidia's Nforce 3 Pro 150 when combined with an Opteron 246 and blast a Xeon 3.06GHz using the Intel E7505 and ICH4 out of the water on SPEC ViewPerf 7.1 workstation benchmark apps.

The test config was apparently a MSI-9130 for the Via, an Asus SK8N (Nforce 3), and an MSI MS-9121 (E7505) with 1GB DDR 333 ECC Reg X2, an ATI 9700Pro, Hitach 80GB, WinXP1a, and DirectX 9.0a.
