TAIWANESE FIRM Asus said it has introduced the P4P800S-E, a board that uses the Intel 848P chipset.

This supports not only Pentium 4s that use the 800MHz front side bus, but Asus claims that it will also support future Prescott processors.

It also comes with an 802.11b wi-fi slot, which Asus said is specifically designed for its own wireless LAN card.

As well as this, the board supports integrated Gigabit LAN, supports Serial ATA and RAID 0 and 1.

The board has an integrated audio CODEC which comes with software that helps plug peripherals into the right places. It includes CrashFree BIOS2 which will allow recovery if the original BIOS somehow gets corrupted. And it includes Q-Fan, which adjusts the speed of the fan according to the temperature and load.

The board also has a utility in the BIOS that allows easy overclocking, Asus claimed. ยต
