IT art to go on display

Microsoft design compo on show in London
Fri May 11 2007, 11:48
MICROSOFT WILL today at 5pm UK time close the voting on its competition to come up with system designs that benefit charities.

The voting ended yesterday and the next stage is to announce the winner and send the contenders and "special mentions" to be displayed at Gallery 27 in Cork Street, the highly pricey Mayfair, London thoroughfare that is synonymous with picture dealers to the mega-rich. The exhibition begins on 29 May and runs through to 2 June. Gallery 27 is currently showing "American painter Klari Reis, who puts a positive and colourful spin on a somewhat controversial element of 21st C. life - prescription drugs".

Entering into the arty spirit of the thing, Microsoft exec Bruce Lynn is even pictured wearing a rather bohemian jacket.

You can see the rather fine entrants here, although, rather uncharitably, you will need a Passport ID, Hotmail address or similar. µ
