BOFFINS HAVE worked out that the way you type on your computer is as unique as your eye colour or speech patterns and can be used as a security key.

Researchers at Louisiana Tech and Penn State have been looking at people's typing patterns for the last five years which must have been exciting for them.

However, they discovered that the time between keystrokes and the time it takes to press a key is so unique you can build a security system around it.

Of course we are uncertain what will happen to your typing speed if you have just had your morning cup of coffee, or are a tech journalist who has just come back from a long lunch with a PR with a corporate credit card, but we are sure they know what they are doing.

The Louisiana Tech and Penn State have inked a deal with security outfit BioPassword to develop the system.
