Intel describes 45 nanometre rollout

Will give 30 per cent cost advantage

CHIP FIRM Intel showed slides that describes how it would roll out 45 nanometre tech later this year and next.

The move to 45 nanometres is the biggest change in process technology for 40 years and claims it has a significant lead over the competition which will allow it to gain a 30 per cent cost advantage. Bob Baker, who runs TMG, gave few hard details about the extras in 45 nanometre, and said that Intel is still working on 32 nanometres.
