Language learning social network gets audiovisual

Now, see hear

A SOCIAL NOT-WORKING web site Voxswap claims it, unlike others, actually has a higher purpose, and that higher purpose means its users will be able to see and hear each other swear in foreign languages.

Voxswap.com was established by Sean and Nicole Hargrave at the beginning of this year, as a social network for people interested in learning new languages. It has just announced that as of maintenant, its users will be able to avail themselves of the site’s newly integrated Skype chatting tool. This means users will be able to summon up their Dutch courage and exchange Chinese whispers by means of audio and visual chat as well as by text.

Hargrave believes that this will be just wunderbar for all those wired-up polyglots just dying to show off their foreign language prowess to their cunning linguistic pals.

"The video section is great for listening to and watching native speakers pass on language tips”, he gushed, adding, “Skype is phenomenal. It really helps to be able to hear the other person and, if both parties agree, see one another in a video conference.”

The site, with the motto 'make friends, learn a language', allows users to sign up gratuito.

As well as providing video and audio, it gives users a virtual keyboard, chock full of weird characters and accents most users wouldn’t have on their own keyboards. Sounds like hours of endless Spasso. Much more fun than poking people all day long, if you'll pardon our French. µ
