Latest Dell XPS outed

Regulation extrapolation
Thu Oct 25 2007, 12:12

DELL HAS ITS sights set on the Imac market with its latest desktop, the XPS One - revealed in pictures thanks to those leaky folks at the FCC.

America's regulatory requirements makes for our techno-geek spy-pic bounty, as the first pics are out on the web here.

The XPS One is an all-in-one machine like Apple's mainstream desktop, with a 22-inch monitor flanked by stereo speakers, an optical drive in the side, and the machine built into the monitor housing.

Unfortunately for Dell, the machine looks far chunkier than Apple's sleek creation, although it does have one thing the Mac doesn't - a Blu-ray drive, making this a great next-gen movie viewer. For both those folks that like watching HD movies on their PCs.

Expect the One to get an official unveiling in time for the Chrimbo marketeering season. µ

1680x1050 is a silly resolution to be using, particularly in an all-in-one computer like this where you can't change the monitor indepedently, when Full HD has 1080 lines.

One Again??

Isn't Gateway http://www.gateway.com/programs/one/index.php already selling a One? You would think DELL could come up with a different name maybe TWO or OneT00
