Bargain Basement Cheap video cards

Having less than $100 in your piggy bank, what video card can you possibly buy? I would probably advise you to take a look at that Radeon 9600XT on sale at $85 at Magicmicro is you're after something new. It does support DirectX9.0 and has 256MB memory plus it comes with one year warranty. If you have a PCI express system , then you could go for that Asus Geforce 6600 with 128MB memory and S-Video from Newegg at $71 inc. free shipping Not bad at all. 300MHz Core, 550MHz memory and a nice cooler. Refurbished though. The Rosewill RW98-PR-128D might not be a bad deal either at $99.99. It is a Radeon 9800 Pro with 128MB DDR memory, clocked at 380/680MHz for core/memory. Unlike SE models this one has a full 256-bit memory and comes with S Video and TVO as well as DVI. Yesterday, I mentionned that the G4Ti 4600 was a DX9.0 part; my mistake. The Geforce FX series was the first to introduce DX9.0. The 4600 is 8.1 only.

Some of you might still be willing to pay for more, but nothing prevents you from buying this Geforce 6800 Ultra from Newegg. It is a refurbished BFG Tech model with accessories supplied apparently - two DVI adapters and two power cables. The card comes with 256MB DDR memory clocked at 1.1GHz and a 425Mhz clocked core. Price asked, $392.20 with free delivery.

There's not much you can do to beat a RAID-0 SATA 10KRpm hard disk. Monarch has two WD Raptor WD360GD 36.7GB HDD for $218 with free shipping. They come as bare drives. With 8MB cache and a five year manufacturers warranty; you'll soon find your benchmarks flying.

If you're looking for cheap hard disk storage, then very few comes cheaper than this White Label Magnetic Data Tech HDD.it has a 160GB capacity, 2MB cache and a 5400rpm. Nothing cutting edge. On top of that it has only a 90 days warranty. But it comes with free shipping and a cool price of $57 or 36p per GB. µ
