Intel Fall 2007 Nehalem and Montevina pics inside

DURING THE KEYNOTE at IDF this morning, Paul Otellini showed off two juicy bits of hardware and two wafers. The wafers were whisked away after the show, no pictures allowed, but the systems remained.

Nehalem-system

This is a running Nehalem, or at least it was, they turned it off after the show. It is by far the most impressive standard server case on the stage.

Montevina-demo-system

The other box is a demo system for the next mobile platform, Montevina. This is obviously a test board, but it is up, it is live and it works pretty well. Notice that the fan is off completely, the system is working and the desktop is active, it is just very power efficient.

Those are the new platforms from Intel this morning, more are sure to follow. µ
