The firm doesn't have to prove that the G80 is a good card for current games but DirectX 10 games on Vista are yet to come. As far as we know, there won't be a significant DirectX 10 title before the end of the year but someone might jump ahead of schedule and join the forces for the 30th November and Vista launch.
We don't know this for sure but we would do it if we were they.
On Nzone, Nvidia just uploaded a trailer from the upcoming game called World in conflict with a super bizarre slogan - the war is coming home.
The game looks outstanding and you can clearly see that that Massive Entertainment used real actors to capture the motions of the soldiers. In the game, Russians are fighting Americans in a new cold war in the nineties but on American soil this time. Looks Über cool.
The demo is rendered on G80, Geforce 8800 GTX and it looks breathtaking. The game is TWIMTBP of course and it comes in 2007 that is all we know at this point.
Our guess is that British ex-sales guy Roy Taylor did his job trying to get as much content for the G80, DirectX 10 hardware. He singled out some cool deals, including this one, and his other babies are Crysis, Quake Wars and Hellgate London. You can expect heavy G80 optimisation for these cards.
Before I let you go I advise you go to and see the trailer for the World in conflict game here. The only bad thing about this game at this point is that it is not a first person shooter, it is a strategy game. µ
