Just waiting to be squeezed
Mon Apr 23 2007, 16:22
LONDON'S FINANCIAL district is now one big hotspot after The Cloud Network switched on its wireless network for the area.

More than 127 WiFi nodes have been installed on lampposts, closed-circuit TV poles and street signs across London's business and financial centre.

The gear has been installed by The Cloud Networks with the big idea that it will charge just shy of £12 a month to use the network.

According to a Cloud press release, the nodes are hidden from view but accessible to an estimated 350,000 Londoners and millions of visitors seeking to get online using their wireless devices.

The Cloud already operates 7,000 hotspot locations throughout Britain, Germany and Sweden. µ
