Symantec says buyout hunger is unsated

Channel Wants a Veritas-style coup every 18 months

EXPECT a whole lot more M&A activity from Symantec over the next few months.

The security vendor is looking to make more strategic acquisitions over the next year, including a biggie of the order of Veritas every 18 months or so.

Senior execs have been told by CEO John Thompson to keep an eye open for likely takeover targets.

The company has not been specific about which areas it intends to buy into. µ
